Toronto has been rated as one of the best cities in the world for students to pursue their studies. QS World University Rankings gave two Canadian cities a place in the top 10 overall rankings—Montreal in eighth, and Toronto in ninth.

When it comes to the desirability section, Toronto is in first place, above Sydney and Tokyo. Jump to affordability and Toronto falls into 28th place.

This publication merges together the annual Corruption Perception index, Global Liveability Ranking, Social Progress index and the Pollution report to create the QS Best University Cities index. Along with reports, it also takes affordability and cost into factor by comparing the price of a Big Mac and iPad in each city.

In the 2015 report, Toronto has been praised for its vibrant cultural scene, nightlife, and world-leadling universities.

Named Canada’s “cultural capital”, the city’s booming art, fashion and creative scene also contributed to its place in the top 10. Ryerson University in particular is known to be the top ranked school in Canada for many programs in the arts, and is also the nation’s best university business incubator.
